‘Nothing as effective as SEEN’
AWH Ltd - Australia’s largest wool and independent cotton handler and a leading logistics and warehousing specialist - recently trialled SEEN’s forklift pedestrian proximity sensor at their busiest warehouse in Brooklyn, Victoria, Australia. During the trial, AWH also installed SEEN Insight. The app gave them real time visibility and evidence of detection events and the confidence to purchase SEEN for the business.
As Marnie Briggs, General Manager, Human Resources and Safety at AWH says “The Brooklyn site has a range of activities and a lot of forklift movement. While the layout has been designed to remove pedestrian traffic from the forklift operating areas, there are tasks that need to be undertaken in storage. While we have measures in place for forklifts to identify people working in those areas, nothing was as effective as the Seen product.
When the Seen hardware was implemented, we also had access to the web portal [SEEN Insight] so we could monitor the results. This gave us a lot of insight into the interactions that were occurring, and improvements we could make in design and processes. The sensors also gave us peace of mind that if the other measures failed, the forklift operators received a very obvious alert if they were getting too close. We received very positive feedback from both management and employees on site and decided to purchase the hardware after the trial.”
